On Monday 22 June, from 11:00 to 13:00 CEST, we will host the online webinar “Scaling Solar Energy Communities in Europe: Innovation & Citizen Engagement”, an event marking the official debut of the SOLHUB Cluster, formed by the Horizon Europe projects SOCIAREM, INNO‑TREC and PVSMILE.

During the session, the three projects will present their progress in advancing more innovative, participatory and sustainable Solar Energy Communities across Europe.
🔹 SOCIAREM will be presented by Francisco Martín Martínez, Associate Professor at Universidad Pontificia Comillas, who will share the project’s approach to citizen engagement, governance models and digital tools for Renewable Energy Communities.
🔹 INNO-TREC will be presented by Mohammad Javadi, Senior Researcher and Associate Professor at Universidade do Porto, highlighting innovative solutions designed to support the creation, operation and scalability of Renewable Energy Communities.
🔹 PVSMILE will be presented by Vasilis Kalavrouziotis, Research Associate at the Energy Policy Unit of the National Technical University of Athens, showcasing how digital technologies, AI and innovative governance models can support smarter and more sustainable photovoltaic systems.
🌱 The roundtable “Scaling Renewable Energy Communities: Fair, Digital And Nature-Conscious PV Solutions” will bring together experts to discuss how to integrate environmental considerations into the development of solar communities, balancing the energy transition with nature protection and responsible land use.
